Michael Munro is an associate in Newmeyer Dillion's Newport Beach office.
Michael brings a strong business perspective to his practice. Prior to his legal career, Michael worked in finance for a publicly traded technology company, performing corporate planning and analysis in addition to investor relations work to maximize shareholder value. He also has unique experience working in the entertainment industry across multiple different roles that allowed him to utilize his passion for music and channel it into learning the business. He honed this experience by earning an MBA, with a focus on marketing and branding. His unique background provides him with a solid understanding of client needs, enabling him to evaluate legal issues through the lens of business objectives to deliver valuable results. Michael brings a collaborative and team-driven approach that benefits stakeholders and optimizes client outcomes.
During graduate school, Michael interned at a record label and balanced his time between academics and work. While working in entertainment, Michael drafted, revised, negotiated, and reviewed recording agreements, as well as registered music copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office. Despite the rigorous demands of law school, business school, and his workload, Michael served as the Chief Production Editor of his school's law review throughout his final year. Michael is an exceptional legal writer and an immediate asset to any team.
Michael is a member of the firm's Business Litigation group, where he uses his business acumen, interpersonal skills, and insider perspective to approach the legal process with business objectives in mind.
