Josh Anderson is an associate in the firm’s Newport Beach office. His practice focuses on complex business litigation and privacy and cybersecurity law.
A seasoned litigator, Josh’s business litigation practice runs the gamut of a business’ life, from issues with starting and forming a business through “business divorces.” That practice includes all aspects of issues faced by businesses, with representative matters including successfully representing clients regarding breaches of contract, contract interpretation, business torts (such as interference with contract, negligence, fraud, and strict liability), breaches of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, alter ego liability, partnership disputes, and other related claims. In his practice, Josh has also represented multiple Fortune 500 companies in defending against consumer finance litigation matters across the country, successfully resolving such matters for a fraction of the damages sought.
Privacy & Data Security
Josh’s privacy and cybersecurity practice focuses on risk assessment and aiding businesses in proactively and aggressively preventing and limiting their exposure from cyber threats, including data breaches.
Josh has also been the lead drafter on multiple successful appellate matters in California courts. This included defeating an appeal taken on a matter where certain plaintiffs had not diligently prosecuted their case, as they are required to do under California law.
Taking a Holistic Approach to Each Case
Beginning his career litigating highly-complex family law matters before practicing exclusively in civil litigation focusing on the needs of businesses, Josh’s diverse background allows him to handle every case with focus, creative problem solving, and sensitivity to the client’s needs. He has been the lead attorney in numerous contentiously litigated matters that resulted in successful outcomes for his clients concerning issues such as business valuations, transfers of ownership, ownership disputes, and evaluations of cash flow.
With his experience representing clients in matters of all sizes, Josh is able to offer effective legal strategies tailored to suit the needs of each client and situation.
